Little Gospel of the Holy Name also known as The Little Sachet or The Little Gospel of the Circumcision
This sacramental was composed by Sister Mary of St. Peter after a special revelation from Our Lord in her famous apparitions regarding the Holy Face Devotion. The devotion to the Holy Name of Jesus is associated with the great work of the reparation of blasphemies of the Holy Face. It consists of a small leaflet on which are printed: the short Gospel of the Circumcision (Luke 2:21), a pictures of the Child Jesus, the initials IHS representing the Holy Name of Jesus, and an invocation to show His victory over evil: "When Jesus was named, Satan was disarmed."
Our Lord made five promises to Sr. Mary of St. Peter in honor of the five letters, forming the Holy Name J E S U S, and through the virtue of His Five Wounds, to all those who wear this Little Gospel:
Protection from lightning
The grace to escape the snares of the devil
Protection from a sudden and unprovided death
The grace to lead a virtuous life
The grace of final perseverance
Through the power of the Holy Name, Our Lord has worked many spiritual and temporal graces, conversions, cures, etc. The Little Gospel is also powerful against the devil for those in their last agony and dying sinners.
This Little Gospel can be carried on your person, in your pocket, hung around your neck, or pinned to your clothing. The Little Gospel is printed on polyester fabric with an opening at the top for you to insert your own strings or chain, if you wish, or to use a safety pin to pin it to clothing.
When folded the Little Gospel measures 1.5" x 2-1/8". Opened it measures 1.5" x 2-1/4".
