The Carmelite Martyrs of Compiegne
As a northamerican woman who belongs to a Carmelite Missionary congregation founded in Spain in 1826, the politics and timeframe of western Europe during the late 1700's. The author, William Bush " recounts in lively detail virtually all that is known of the life and background" of the martyrs. Our Congregation of the Carmelites Sisters, Vedruna had 24 sisters martyred in Spain later during the Spanish civil war. The life stories of all of these women are a testimony to God's grace constantly at work in our world, in our midst. The generosity of the women in Compiegne, in Barcelona...and even today in the many places of violence and discord call us today to be open to the same radical act of generous love for the sake of the world.
The book arrived in excellent condition and quite quickly. Many of us will benefit from this recounting, of that I am certain.
