Innocence
This 19th century image by French artist William Bouguereau presents a most beautiful, pure and
deeply spiritual painting of Our Lady holding the Infant Jesus with a baby lamb.
Adolphe-William Bouguereau was a famous portrait artist born in La Rochelle, France on November 30, 1825. He
followed the classical style of 16th century painters such as Raphael. Bouguereau painted for a number of
Catholic Churches throughout the late 1800s. He died in 1905.
