St. Joseph

For St. Teresa of Avila, St. Joseph was the “go-to”Patron and Saint for any need whatever, both great and small. "I took for my patron the glorious St. Joseph and recommended myself earnestly to him… I cannot call to mind that I have ever asked him at any time for anything which he has not granted; and I am filled with amazement when I consider the great favors which God has given me through this blessed Saint; the dangers from which he has delivered me, both of body and of soul." - St. Teresa of Avila

St. Joseph had the particularly unique and singular vocation to be the image of Our Father in Heaven on earth. He is not only Our Lord’s father, but ours as well. He is Patron of the Universal Church (guarding the Mystical Body of Christ just as he guarded Christ Himself), Patron of a Happy Death (having died in the arms of Jesus and Mary), and an exemplary model for Fathers.
